Oregon City pool to temporarily close for repairs in February and March

Even public pools need some rest and relaxation once in a while.

The Oregon City pool will be closed for repairs starting Wednesday, Feb. 26 until Sunday, April 6.

The temporary closures will allow Parks & Recreation staff to replaster and retile the pool’s shell. The facility is 60 years old and preventive repairs are intended to help avoid further work and closures in the future.

“A full replaster and retiling will minimize the need for future closures, and shorten any work windows when any maintenance does need to be performed,” the city said in a press release.

Pool memberships will be extended to account for closures, so all Oregon City residents receive the full membership value. All new memberships won’t begin until April 6.

Additional programming will be scheduled during the closure to account for missed city programs. These will include babysitting, first aid, CPR and bloodborne pathogen courses.

Fitness programs and community room rentals won’t change during the pool’s temporary closure.
